Hey there, fashion friend! Asako here. If you‘re like me, you‘re always on the hunt for fresh online shopping destinations to source stylish, unique pieces that will set your ‘fits apart from the rest. So when I started seeing my favorite influencers posting their Verishop hauls, I knew I had to check it out for myself.
I‘ll admit I was skeptical at first – could this relative newcomer really live up to the hype? But after testing out the site (and placing more orders than I care to admit), I‘m ready to spill the tea on Verishop. Consider this your tell-all guide to the trendiest digital storefront on the block.
First Impressions
When you land on verishop.com, the vibe is undeniably chic. The site has a clean, editorial feel with high-quality product shots that could be straight out of a glossy magazine. It‘s easy to navigate by category, and I appreciate the mix of familiar brands like Levi‘s and Veja alongside up-and-coming labels I‘ve never heard of.
One thing that immediately stands out is Verishop‘s commitment to sustainability and ethical production. The site makes it easy to shop eco-friendly products thanks to its "Responsible Shop" filter. You can also browse by women-owned, Black-owned, and Asian-owned businesses, which I love.
Unique Brand Selection
Speaking of brands, this is where Verishop really shines. No shade to department stores, but I‘m kind of over seeing the same labels everywhere I turn. Verishop‘s buyers have a knack for sourcing under-the-radar designers with serious cool factor. A few of my faves:
- The Arrivals: minimalist outerwear with a streetwear twist
- JW Pei: affordable, on-trend vegan bags
- Palindrome: super flattering size-inclusive activewear
- Sabi: chic home decor handmade by artisans around the world
I‘d say 80% of Verishop‘s assortment is stuff I haven‘t seen elsewhere online, which is a huge draw for me. It‘s the perfect place to cop statement pieces that will have your friends asking, "OMG, where‘d you get that?"
My Verishop Haul
Okay, now for the good stuff – my Verishop purchases! I‘ll be honest, I went a little wild on my first couple orders. But in the name of research, I had to put the site through its paces, right? Here‘s what I copped and my thoughts:
outfit 1: French-Girl Cool
- Rouje Gabin Houndstooth Wool Blazer, $280: I‘ve been eyeing this French brand for ages, so I was pumped to see it on Verishop. The blazer is a wool-blend, so it‘s super warm but not too heavy. I sized up for an oversized fit and it‘s perfection.
- Cotton Citizen Brooklyn Oversized Crop Tee, $90: A staple white tee is a must in any capsule wardrobe, and this one from LA label Cotton Citizen is a stunner. It‘s made of the softest cotton and has a perfectly boxy, cropped fit. Spendy for a basic, but the quality is ace.
- AGOLDE Pinch Waist High Rise Kick, $188: I‘m ride-or-die for my AGOLDE jeans, so I was stoked to snag a pair of these high-waisted flares. The ankle crop is perfect for a shorty like me (I‘m 5‘3"). Size down, they run big!
- Veja Esplar Low Sneakers, $130: Veja is the gold standard for sustainable sneaks, and these classic low-tops are no exception. I went for the crisp white leather and they go with everything from dresses to denim.
outfit 2: Zoom Meeting Chic
- Billie the Label Puff Sleeve Midi Dress, $180: I love a statement sleeve, and this floral midi from Aussie brand Billie the Label is giving me major heart eyes. The blue floral print is even prettier IRL. Add a swipe of red lipstick and you‘re set.
- Missoma Mini Tidal Hoop Earrings, $162: Missoma makes the daintiest gold jewelry and these seashell hoops are too cute. I‘ve been wearing them on repeat to dress up my basic WFH uniform.
- STAUD Bissett Leather Bag, $250: I‘ve wanted a STAUD bag forevs and this sleek cream shoulder style is a dream. The croc-embossed leather feels luxe AF and the magnetic closure is clutch. Worth every penny.
According to a 2022 study by eMarketer, online fashion and accessories sales are set to hit a whopping $205.69 billion this year – a 15.1% year-over-year growth. With numbers like that, it‘s clear that e-tailers like Verishop are the future of shopping.
Verishop may be a newcomer compared to giants like Nordstrom or ASOS, but the nimble startup is quickly carving out a niche in the crowded market. Verishop saw $15 million in revenue for 2021 – a 150% year-over-year increase. The company also reported a 112% uptick in order volume over the holiday period. Not too shabby for a three-year-old brand.
So what‘s driving Verishop‘s impressive growth? Industry insiders say it boils down to a few key factors:
"Verishop has very smartly positioned itself as a premium alternative to Amazon for fashion and home goods," says Lauren Bitar, head of insights at analytics firm RetailNext. "By carefully curating its selection and prioritizing independent brands, it‘s built a strong identity that resonates with millennial and Gen Z consumers."
"The company‘s social commerce tools are also a huge value-add," Bitar explains. "Verishop was one of the first to launch live video shopping and customers are responding positively to these interactive experiences."
Social Shopping on Verishop
Real talk, the Verishop app is dangerously convenient. It serves up new arrivals curated just for you and lets you heart your faves for later. But the coolest feature by far is Verishop‘s live "Shop Parties."
Imagine a Zoom hangout with your most fashionable friends, but you‘re all shopping together on Verishop. That‘s basically what a Shop Party is. You and up to five pals can join a private room, browse products together, and get real-time feedback from your crew. It‘s like having a virtual stylist at your fingertips!
I‘ve hosted a few Shop Parties of my own and let me tell you, they‘re fun AND fueled more than a few impulse buys (sorry not sorry). Verishop even sweetens the deal by offering exclusive discounts when you shop live with friends. Dangerous for your wallet, but oh so entertaining.
"We‘ve seen online shopping become an increasingly social activity, particularly among Gen Z," notes Alexis DeSalva Kahler, senior research analyst at Mintel. "Features like Verishop‘s Shop Party tap into this behavior and add a layer of excitement and engagement that traditional e-commerce lacks."
As someone who practically lives on TikTok, I can confirm that Verishop is making waves on the platform. The #verishophaul tag has racked up over 1.2 million views to date, with creators sharing their honest takes on the e-tailer‘s trendiest pieces.
"TikTokers love an unboxing moment, and Verishop‘s cute packaging makes for great video content," says social media strategist Alexa Tonner, founder of Collectively agency. "The brand‘s future-tech positioning also plays well with the TikTok audience. We‘re seeing more and more fashion retailers lean into gamified shopping experiences like virtual try-on and livestreaming to capture Gen Z‘s attention."
The Verdict
After giving Verishop a thorough test drive, I have to say I‘m impressed. No e-commerce site is perfect, but Verishop gets a lot right. The highly curated brand selection is a breath of fresh air, the app is stupid easy to use, and the prices are fair for the quality you get.
I do have a couple small critiques. One, I wish Verishop offered free returns (you have to pay a $6 shipping fee for most orders under $50). And two, a lot of the best stuff sells out crazy fast. You‘ve really got to stalk the new arrivals page to score the most covetable pieces. But if you love the thrill of the fashion hunt, that‘s all part of the fun, right?
Quibbles aside, I‘m ready to call myself a Verishop stan. In a sea of cookie-cutter DTC brands and cheap Amazon dupes, it‘s a haven for unique, high-quality design. The company‘s focus on sustainability and DEI also earns major brownie points in my book.
Based on my countless hours browsing Verishop‘s virtual racks (seriously, it‘s a problem), here are my recs for must-shop categories:
- Knitwear: From cozy alpaca-blend cardigans to sexy cut-out sweaters, Verishop‘s selection of on-trend knits is truly top-notch. Filter by "New Arrivals" for the best assortment.
- Indie Beauty Brands: Clean skincare obsessives need to run, not walk, to Verishop‘s beauty section. You‘ll find cult faves like Kosas and RMS Beauty alongside rising stars like Bubble and Feals.
- Small Space Furniture: If you‘re furnishing an apartment or starter home, Verishop‘s furniture edit can‘t be beat. Think sleek storage solutions, modular sofas, and chic accent chairs from design-y brands like Inside Weather, Burrow, and Lulu and Georgia.
- Handmade Accessories: One of my favorite Verishop discoveries is its treasure trove of artisan-made jewelry and bags. I‘m talking woven raffia totes from Bali, hand-carved acrylic earrings from Atlanta, and beaded statement necklaces from Colombia. Truly special pieces you won‘t spot on every other influencer.
At the end of the day, online shopping is all about the dopamine rush of snagging something fresh and fabulous. And for serving up those thrills on the regular, Verishop has quickly become my new addiction. Don‘t be surprised if you see me rocking head-to-toe ‘Shopped looks on the feed.
Consider yourself influenced! But don‘t just take my word for it – create an account and see for yourself why Verishop is the fashion girl‘s ultimate gem. Happy hauling!
