At this point, it’s going to be hard to find people out there that don’t want to market their brand online and expand their audience.
The Internet has become rife with people in all different types of industries that want to be able to get big online with their brand, and a lot of the time, they do this through social media, and their website.
However, just because you want to do something with your brand online doesn’t mean that you have the skills or knowledge to do so.

The coding industry has taken off over the last few years, and while there is only a small percentage of people who are expert-level in coding, there are thousands of jobs available.
I have used a few of these kinds of tools in the past, and I feel passionate enough about the topic to write reviews about certain companies, so that you can be aware of which ones you should go for, and which ones not to go for.
Today, I am going to review one in particular, and determine whether they’re actually going to help you learn the right coding skills so that you can promote your brand online, or land a lucrative job as a freelance coder.
What is Freemote?
Freemote is a company that was created by Jan Frey and Aaron Jack.
What I found really interesting is that there isn’t actually that much information online about these two guys, except that according to Aaron, he spent nearly $18,000 learning coding in a coding bootcamp online.
He said that after this, he managed to land a job as a web developer with Uber.
I tried to do it a bit of digging on YouTube and found that he has a YouTube channel where he produces coding videos, and it currently has more than 200,000 subscribers.
As far as Jan Frey goes, he says that he has a lot of experience dealing with Shopify agencies.
Freemote primarily focuses on Shopify and eCommerce, but it also claims to teach its users coding and web development.
This company believes that Shopify is the best place to grow, because they think that it is going to give your brand the best opportunity.
I can understand this to a point, because the eCommerce industry is definitely growing really quickly. Shopify is also easily the most popular eCommerce platform.
Freemote Says that they offer their users 30 hours of training and 190 lessons over seven weeks, so that you can build your Shopify eCommerce website, do well with your brand, and even turn your coding expertise into a business.
So, what can you expect from a company like this? I’m going to tell you all about it.

The First Week
In the first week, these guys claim to offer their clients five hours of instruction that covers CSS, and HTML. They offer beginner and advanced lessons around these topics.
The Second Week
Apparently in the second week, you are going to learn how to program JavaScript, including high order functions, functions and methods, loops, compound types, and variables and types.
The Third Week
The third week consists of web development and advanced JavaScript and within this week, apparently, you’re going to learn all about clients and servers, document object model projects, dynamic data projects, and more.
The Fourth Week
During this week, you are supposed to learn about Shopify, which is the obvious platform that you want to go for if you want to be able to easily sell your product or services to your audience.
The majority of people on the Internet with a brand sell their product or service through a Shopify website.
Apparently, you are going to learn about back-end setup from a front-end setup and all about recommended themes, and recommended apps.
The Fifth Week
The fifth week is all about Shopify development, where you are going to learn about Shopify themes, Shopify liquid, and more.
The Sixth Week
The sixth week is all about advanced Shopify development, where you will learn about Shopify dynamic elements, static elements, advanced dynamic elements, and best practice methods.
The Seventh Week
In the last week you are going to learn strategies and skills around freelancing, which means that you are going to learn less about coding, and actually learn how to get a job.
You are going to learn how to build a portfolio, how to network, and what to do when communicating with a client, and negotiating a contract.
Freemote Pricing
Freemote is currently charging clients $1659, which isn’t a mind-blowing number necessarily, but compared to other companies and courses that I’ve seen online, is definitely up there.
It’s up there if you’re looking for something that’s basic but high quality, but it isn’t up there if you are going to consider some of those courses out there that range in price from $30,000 to $50,000.
Of course, Freemote doesn’t even come close to a course like this and offer you the same level of training as a nine-month bootcamp, so how much you are going to get out of it remains to be seen.
Of course, you will know that in the world of business, you’ve got to spend money to make money, so I don’t think that you should expect to be earning six figures as a Shopify expert anytime soon once you come out of this course.

I don’t think that Freemote is legit. Why? Because they don’t provide you with knowledge or learning that you can’t get anywhere else.

I don’t necessarily think that Freemote is a scam, but we certainly think that they could be putting a bit more effort into what they are teaching their clients.
We think that they are charging too much for what they are offering.

Review Verdict
Personally, I think that you could potentially classify Freemote as somewhat of a scam.
Yes, I think that they are offering a legitimate course, and I think that the people that are offering the course are experts in the coding industry, but I don’t think that you are going to make too much money from freelance coding once you come out of this course after seven weeks.
As I said above, learning to code is one of those things that is a lot easier said than done. There are millions of coding jobs out there, which makes coding a very valuable skill.
However, there are only a small percentage of people that actually know how to code, and there’s an even smaller percentage of people that are at expert level.
This is why I believe that if you want to actually be able to land a coding job that is going to make you some serious money, you will need to invest in a college degree.
Coding is a pretty challenging way to earn money online, because it is going to take a lot of time to learn how to do it, so for a course like this to claim that they can help you get to expert level in just seven weeks isn’t realistic.
Personally, I believe that you should go for something else out there, and yes, while you might have to spend a little bit more of your money, I think it’s going to be worth it in the long run, because you are going to pick up the skills that you need to actually land a job that you’re going to be happy with for a long time.
