Fixing the error of ‘deep link not supported’ on Trust Wallet is pretty easy. Just follow the steps given in this article.
Trust Wallet is one of the most popular cryptocurrency wallets available online. One of the features that make Trust Wallet distinct is the freedom to use decentralized applications on the platform.
Unfortunately, we have recently seen a large number of complaints regarding a new error.
When users try to enable the DApp browser on Trust Wallet, they face a warning message that says: “Deep Link is not supported.”
What does this mean? Why is it happening?
Well, you may be seeing this error if you are using Trust Wallet on an iOS device.
After the latest update of Trust Wallet, iOS devices seem to display an error where users are unable to access other applications through Trust Wallet.
In this guide, you will learn everything about why you got the “Deep Link not supported” error and how to fix it.
What Is the “Deep Link Not Supported” Error?
Deep links act as the bridge between Trust Wallet and other applications.
When you get the “Deep Link not supported” error, it means that the DApp browser can no longer be accessed through an iOS device.
As of May 2021, Trust Wallet released a new update that removed the DApp browser access from iOS devices.
This update was made to comply with the new Apple App Store guidelines that prohibit applications from linking to other third-party integrations.
Since Apple had previously pointed out that Trust Wallet violated their guidelines, it was necessary for Trust Wallet to add this new update.
The easiest way to bypass this error is to switch to an Android device instead.
However, if you don’t have an Android device available, then you can use our guide below to resolve the error on your iOS device.
How to Fix “Deep Link Not Supported” Error on iOS (Trust Wallet)
To fix this deep link error, you should use a browser instead of the Trust Wallet app on your iOS device.
All you need to do is open the decentralized exchange (such as PancakeSwap) on your browser, connect with Trust Wallet, and start using it as normal.
Here’s a detailed guide on how to fix “Deep Link not supported” on any iOS device:
Step 1: Open the Exchange via Browser
Using a browser like Safari or Chrome, open the decentralized exchange that you want to connect.
Since PancakeSwap is amongst the most popular exchanges, we will be using it in our example.
However, you can use the same method to connect any decentralized exchange with Trust Wallet.
Just remember to open the right decentralized exchange site in step 1.
Once the exchange is accessible, you can connect it with Trust Wallet.
On exchanges like PancakeSwap and Uniswap, you will see an option to “Connect Wallet” on the top right corner.
Step 2: Click on “WalletConnect”
When you click on the “Connect Wallet” option, you will see a pop-up with a list of wallets that you can use.
You can find wallets like MetaMask, WalletConnect, Trust Wallet, and more on the list.
However, do not click on Trust Wallet since the server is often faulty.
Instead, you should select “WalletConnect” as it is a safer option.
You can use WalletConnect to integrate your blockchain wallet (Trust Wallet) to a decentralized exchange.
Step 3: Click and Open in “Trust”
You will also see another list of available wallets that you can connect with.
Since WalletConnect supports over 75 wallets, you will have to search for “Trust” from the list. Once you find it, click on “Trust” to connect.
If a pop-up message appears that asks you “Open in Trust?”, tap on “open.”
This will redirect the decentralized exchange to open the next page in Trust Wallet automatically.
Step 4: Allow Permission
Before Trust Wallet gives access to your wallet to a decentralized exchange, it will ask for permission.
Tap on the “Connect” button to allow PancakeSwap to access your wallet activity and balance.
Step 5: Use the Exchange
Now that PancakeSwap has access to your Trust Wallet, you can go back to the decentralized exchange opened in your browser.
You are successfully connected to PancakeSwap without needing any DApp browsers.
So, this is how you can fix the “Deep link not supported” error and use decentralized exchanges on your iOS device.
